Israel’s military said Sunday that “99%” of projectiles fired by Iran were intercepted by Israel and its partners, with only “a small number” of ballistic missiles reaching Israel. In total, around 170 drones, more than 30 cruise missiles and more than 120 ballistic missiles were launched at Israel by Iran overnight Saturday, the military said. US officials said more than 70 drones and three ballistic missiles were intercepted by US Navy ships and military aircraft, without giving details of exactly what defenses were used to bring down the projectiles. The Iron Dome is the bottom layer of Israel’s missile defense, according to the country’s Missile Defense Organization (IMDO). The ballistic missiles that did reach Israel fell on the Netavim Air Base in southern Israel, Israel’s military spokesman said, adding that they caused only light structural damage.

SYDNEY, Aug 16 (Reuters) - England reached the Women's World Cup final for the first time with a 3-1 win over Australia on Wednesday, breaking the hearts of the host nation and setting up an all-European title decider against Spain. Ella Toone drove England's opener into the corner of the net in the 36th minute to silence the crowd of 75,784 but Australia captain Sam Kerr brought them back into it with a stunning run and strike from 25 metres out in the 64th minute. The Matildas defence failed to deal with a long ball over the top seven minutes later, however, and Lauren Hemp nipped in to drill it into the net. Kerr came close to scoring an equaliser but came up short and Alessia Russo powered home England's third four minutes from time to send the European champions, semi-final losers at the last two World Cups, into Sunday's final. If you’ve read this column regularly over the last few years, my rooting interests should be clear by now. The players and teams who toil hard for the simple chance, however slim, of winning. With the Women’s World Cup now in full flight, most attention has gone to the venerable teams like France, Brazil and Germany. Hats off to all those teams, each talent-blessed and well-funded by their national soccer federations and by business conglomerates. Users of one of Reddit's largest communities are protesting statements from the social media site's CEO and changes to its API by only allowing posts of photos of "Last Week Tonight" host John Oliver "looking sexy." A moderator for r/Pics on Friday posted a message telling the site's users that they would vote between letting the subreddit continue operating normally or only allowing images of "John Oliver looking sexy." Users voted 37,331 to 2,329 in favor of sexy John Oliver. Representatives for John Oliver did not immediately return Insider's request for comment on Saturday.
